Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a full-time, remote position within the Veterans Affairs department. Candidates must have strong programming skills (C#, Java, Python) and extensive experience in both manual and automated testing, Agile/Scrum, and SDLC. A Public Trust (MBI) clearance is required.

U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity. This is a 100% U.S.-based remote role with a salary range of $85,389 to $116,975 and promotion of veteran

Qualifications

• Must have strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience on complex software projects with quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in writing and executing test cases and plans.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free software.
• Document and communicate test results to stakeholders.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Mentor junior testers and provide guidance on testing approaches.
• Support analysis of test results and issue resolution.
