Nelnet is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for cloud-based solutions, collaborating with the QA Architect to improve reliability and time-to-market.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ QA experience with QA methodologies and processes.
• Experience testing large-scale software systems.
• Expertise in automated testing tools and scripting languages.
• Familiar with CI/CD practices and cloud security basics.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA Architect to implement testing frameworks and tests.
• Develop and maintain automation code for performance, security, integration, and regression tests.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines with automated tests integrated.
• Work with development teams to ensure testable, high-quality code and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose issues and provide input to resolve them promptly.
• Advocate for testability during design and implementation.
• Use cloud platforms and tools to enhance testing processes.
• Create and maintain test data and environments.
• Provide input on system performance, scalability, and reliability from testing perspective.
• Stay updated with latest testing trends and share insights with the team.
