Job summary

Sungrow North America is seeking a highly motivated SCADA Network Engineer to support utility-scale energy storage and renewable projects in a remote contractor role in the US. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 3+ years in industrial automation, SCADA integration, industrial networking, or energy storage systems.
• Experience with utility-scale BESS or renewable energy systems.
• Understanding of EMS, PCS, substation communication, and utility integration requirements.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line environments.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial communication networks and field devices.
• Hands-on with Modbus TCP/RTU, CANbus, RS-485, OPC UA/DA, TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Configure, troubleshoot, and validate industrial communication systems (Modbus TCP/IP, RTU, CANbus, RS-485, OPC UA/DA, DNP3, IEC 61850).
• Implement, deploy, and support SCADA systems for utility-scale storage and renewables.
• Coordinate integration between BESS, PCS, EMS, utility SCADA, PLCs, and third-party systems.
• Support FAT/SAT by documenting results, troubleshooting, and validating telemetry.
• Diagnose and resolve telemetry and network performance issues using protocol analyzers and logs.
• Configure SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, AVEVA/ Wonderware, FactoryTalk, WinCC).
• Support historians and data platforms (PI System, Canary Historian, InfluxDB).
• Configure middleware/tools (Kepware, MQTT brokers, protocol gateways).
• Support Linux and Windows industrial systems (CLI, networking diagnostics, remote access).
• Develop technical docs: maps, diagrams, procedures, troubleshooting guides, commissioning docs.
