Job summary
SEO Scholars is seeking a Saturday Academy Instructor for Math (9th & 10th grade) to teach and co-teach three to four periods remotely. The role uses Zoom, Brightspace, Nearpod, and GSuite, with lesson plans provided and opportunities for coaching feedback.
The position supports high school Scholars in a fully online format on select Saturdays, requiring a reliable laptop and strong math knowledge. Prior high school teaching and a passion for equity are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field and teaching certification.
- Teaching certification, K-12 or college level experience.
- Reliable laptop meeting basic technology requirements.
- Experience teaching high school students.
- Comfortable navigating instructional technologies.
- Expertise in advanced high school mathematics.
- Eagerness to discuss societal issues affecting education.
Responsibilities
- Co-teach three to four math periods; cover when needed.
- Navigate Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, and Zoom in blended learning.
- Prepare and adjust lesson plans and materials.
- Host open-door tutoring sessions for Scholars.
- Promote energetic, engaging classroom culture.
- Collaborate with SEO staff; attend meetings and respond promptly.
- Meet with instructional coach to receive feedback.
