Job summary

SEO Scholars is seeking a part-time, remote Math Instructor for 9th–11th grade to deliver a rigorous college-prep curriculum through online platforms. You will co-teach and tutor Scholars using Zoom and other digital tools, contributing to a high-impact NC program that serves hundreds of students.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field, teaching credentials or college teaching experience, a reliable laptop, and experience with high school students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field.
• Teaching certification, K-12 classroom experience, or college teaching experience.
• Reliable personal laptop meeting technology requirements.
• Experience working with high school-aged students.
• Comfortable with navigating learning systems.
• Expertise in advanced high school mathematics.
• Willingness to discuss societal issues and causes of inequities.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach three to four periods including ELA and Advisory, following provided lesson plans.
• Utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, Google Suite, and Zoom in a blended learning environment.
• Prepare and adjust lesson materials to meet student needs.
• Host open-door tutoring and review sessions for Scholars.
• Foster an energetic, engaging classroom culture and collaborative atmosphere.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and respond promptly to communications.
• Meet with instructional coach to receive feedback and implement recommendations.
