Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Lead to drive large-scale data modernization and migrate SAS-based platforms to AWS and PySpark solutions. You will lead a Data Engineering team, collaborating with architects, stakeholders, and global delivery teams to deliver scalable, secure data solutions.

You will define migration strategies, establish data quality frameworks, and provide technical leadership across ETL, data modeling, and governance efforts.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and enterprise data integration.
• Hands-on experience with SAS, PySpark, and AWS Glue.
• Proven experience leading cloud data migration and modernization programs.
• Strong expertise with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and Athena.
• Advanced SQL, data modeling, and data transformation skills.
• Experience implementing data quality, reconciliation, governance, and migration frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment, planning, and migration of legacy SAS programs, datasets, macros, and ETL workflows to AWS-based data platforms.
• Define migration strategies, standards, and best practices for converting SAS workloads into PySpark and AWS Glue solutions.
• Partner with data architects and engineering teams to design scalable cloud data lake and integration architectures.
• Establish data validation, reconciliation, and quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and successful migration outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and governance to data engineers, ETL developers, architects, and QA teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
