Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Lead in the United States. You will guide large-scale data modernization, migrating SAS-based workloads to cloud-native AWS and PySpark solutions. Collaborate across data engineering, architects, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data platforms.

Lead migrations, establish quality frameworks, and mentor teams while aligning with enterprise standards and governance. Remote-friendly within the U.S. market.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and enterprise data integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAS, PySpark, and AWS Glue.
• Proven experience leading cloud data migration and modernization programs.
• Strong expertise with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and Athena.
• Advanced SQL, data modeling, and data transformation skills.
• Experience implementing data quality, reconciliation, governance, and migration frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, planning, and migration of SAS workloads to AWS-based data platforms.
• Define migration strategies, standards, and best practices for PySpark conversions.
• Partner with architects and engineers to design scalable cloud data lake architectures.
• Establish data validation, reconciliation, and quality frameworks for migration success.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and governance across migration lifecycle.
