Qualifications

• Six semester hours in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, information systems management, or quantitative methods.
• Four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.
• Six years of total work experience with one year in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR advanced degree or CPA/license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure payments are properly applied to taxpayer accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements with payments received in the portal.
• Authorize or recommend issuance of any refund or credit due.
• Review penalty waiver requests and make a determination or recommendation per guidance.
• Assist taxpayers with applications, filing of returns, payment of taxes, and general questions.
• Educate taxpayers regarding compliance with state statutes and local tax ordinances.
