Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Safety/Industrial Hygiene intern for a paid, full-time remote summer assignment (May–August 2027). You will collaborate with EHS leaders across the organization to develop standards, conduct hazard assessments, and support training to maintain a safe work environment.

You will report to the Program Manager of Global Industrial Hygiene and may travel to other Westinghouse locations.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental, health & safety, industrial hygiene or similar.
• Completion of occupational safety, environmental or industrial hygiene coursework is required.
• Some experience with safety regulatory requirements.
• Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work locations (<50 miles).
• Willingness to travel to other Westinghouse locations which may include international travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing safety/industrial hygiene standards and programs.
• Participate in EHS team meetings; present on topics and progress.
• Conduct hazard assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices for compliance.
• Participate in exposure investigations to identify causes and corrective actions.
• Work as part of an inspection or audit team.
• Develop safety briefs and training materials; provide training to improve EHS knowledge.
