Job summary

Accela is seeking a Manager, Engineering Development to lead one or more product development teams building a diverse SaaS platform primarily on Java and .NET. This role blends engineering execution with leadership to ensure delivery excellence and coordinated cross-functional collaboration across the software lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will balance technical depth with people leadership, manage resources and schedules, and champion AI-driven development to enhance productivity and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a software development team, preferably within SaaS/enterprise tech or cloud environments.
• Experience with Java and/or .NET platforms and modern CI/CD development practices.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, resource planning, capacity management, and delivery execution.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and timelines and drive initiatives through to completion.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering and other technical teams.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and collaboration.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more product development teams through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Manage development work and priorities in Jira and coordinate with Product Management on requirements and timelines.
• Drive capacity planning and resource alignment across teams to optimize talent usage.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Tech Leads, QA, Cloud Ops and others to ensure coordinated delivery.
• Contribute to roadmaps, milestones, and tracking mechanisms for progress, issues, risks.
• Champion AI adoption and AI-driven development practices to boost productivity and quality.
• Maintain consistency in development practices, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder engagement across teams.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to developers.
