Job summary

Expansion International is recruiting Medical Video Remote Interpreters to connect English-speaking providers with Russian-speaking patients, primarily via video, with some phone sessions. The role is fully remote with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.

Training is provided, and prior interpreting experience is helpful but not required if bilingual fluency and contextual understanding are demonstrated. Night shifts aligned to US ET will be scheduled.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and Bengali verbal communication.
• Understanding of medical interpreting concepts, even informal experience.
• Ability to interpret accurately in medical contexts in both languages.
• Willingness to complete a medical interpreting proficiency assessment.
• Cultural responsiveness within US healthcare settings.
• Reliability and sound judgment, with a customer service mindset.
• Comfort with video conferencing platforms and new remote tech.
• Able to pass background and drug screening.
• Private home workspace reserved for sessions with locked door and wired internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate video interpreting between English and Bengali, with occasional phone sessions.
• Interpret faithfully without adding, omitting, or altering meaning.
• Follow interpreter ethics, standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy requirements.
• Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and respect for diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain professional conduct before, during, and after sessions.
• Adapt to evolving technology, workflows, and service needs.
• Participate in required training, coaching, and quality activities.
