Job summary

SearchApi is seeking a Ruby Engineer (Web Scraping) to enhance browser automation, CDP internals, and anti-bot techniques at scale. You’ll own parsers, integrations, and documentation while shipping features to billions of requests.

Qualifications

• Experience with browser automation and data extraction for complex sites.
• Strong understanding of anti-bot evasion and CDP internals.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and web fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, JS).
• Excellent written communication and ability to work async in a remote team.
• Minimum Bachelor level in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Fix broken parsers under time pressure.
• Add new elements to existing search engines.
• Build and ship new search engine integrations.
• Reverse engineer website protections and anti-bot systems.
• Debug browser automation issues (CDP, fingerprinting, evasion).
• Create and improve documentation pages.
• Develop landing pages and admin dashboard features.
• Review PRs and help test.
• Talk to customers directly to understand needs and solutions.
• Rotate on customer support and ship what they need.
