O.R. Colan Associates, LLC seeks a Utilities Right of Way Title Agent to conduct title searches, review deeds and related documents, and prepare accurate Title Reports for clients.

This role requires travel across Virginia and flexibility to work from a home office within a 100-mile radius of Roanoke or Wytheville, VA. Responsibilities include verifying instruments, maintaining professional communication, and leveraging MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing titles and title reports.
• Experience verifying property ownerships, mortgages, liens, and judgments and determining title impact.
• Able to identify key information about parcels and communicate clearly to owners.
• Proficient reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, and easements; producing a chain of title.
• Comfortable with real estate terminology and determining required title evidence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct real estate title searches using online databases and county courthouses.
• Retrieve and review deeds, mortgages, contracts, easements, tax cards, and plats.
• Compile findings into client-provided Title Reports with complete title information.
• Verify and document all instruments needed to complete thorough and compliant title searches.
