Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a night shift role in the Transfer Center. The position is remote within one hour of Milwaukee, WI, and involves coordinating patient transfers across markets to optimize bed availability and care levels.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, connect physicians with specialists, and help manage pre-registration and insurance verifications while tracking patient status and reporting to care teams.

Qualifications

• RN license required prior to hire date or transfer date.
• BLS certification preferred (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or active professional licensure.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient movement across markets based on acuity and bed availability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate levels of care.
• Connect requesting physicians with specialty consultants and maintain referral relationships.
• Assist and maintain records with pre-registration, insurance verification, and care processes.
• Monitor status changes and relay medical reports to admitting physicians and nursing units.
