Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Clinical Documentation & Integrity Specialist for a remote role in Texas. The RN must hold a BSN or MSN and have at least five years of inpatient acute care experience, with ICU exposure preferred.

Responsibilities include improving documentation quality through concurrent physician interaction, educating staff on coding and compliance, and ensuring accurate DRG assignments while adhering to HIPAA and CMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• RN with Texas license and BSN/MSN required.
• Minimum 5 years of inpatient, acute care experience; ICU preferred.
• Strong analytical, observation, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of federal/state payer regulations preferred.
• Able to work independently and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with physicians and care team to facilitate complete medical record documentation.
• Uses the CDI system to identify opportunities for improved documentation and DRG assignment.
• Coaches clinicians on compliance, coding, and clinical documentation issues.
• Develops physician education strategies to promote complete and accurate documentation.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and participates in service line meetings.
