Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Risk Management Consultant to join our Energy and Resources team. You will support the delivery of engineering risk management services that help clients make informed decisions and successfully execute complex projects.

This role is remote / hybrid with travel to client sites up to 10% of the year. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify, evaluate, and manage risks across the project lifecycle from early-stage studies through execution and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting risk management on engineering or capital projects.
• Experience leading risk workshops and client-facing work.
• Knowledge of MSHA and industry regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to implement practical risk management strategies.
• Facilitate structured risk workshops (HAZOP, HAZID, PHA, FMEA) in person or virtual.
• Develop and maintain risk registers with clear, decision-ready outputs.
• Lead discussions to identify risks and set mitigation actions.
• Coordinate with discipline leads to understand project systems and execution strategies.
• Support risk monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
