Qualifications

• CRC certification and 2+ years of risk adjustment or HCC coding experience.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and CMS risk adjustment guidelines.
• Experience educating providers on coding and documentation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to ensure accurate capture of risk-adjusting diagnoses.
• Perform retrospective and prospective HCC coding reviews.
• Validate ICD-10-CM codes and ensure clinical support.
• Conduct coding audits to maintain documentation integrity and compliance.
• Educate providers and staff on coding and risk adjustment best practices.
• Communicate audit findings and trends to leadership.
• Stay current on CMS risk adjustment requirements and payer rules.
