Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care’s Patient Financial Services department seeks a Revenue Cycle Coordinator for the PHARM division. The role will supervise the Credits team and serve as a resource for complex billing issues, overseeing QA, training, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a financial, medical billing, coding and/or revenue cycle environment.
• 1-3 years supervisor experience.
• Outstanding attention to detail and ability to gather and analyze data and make recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to handle difficult conversations and escalations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise work of Patient Account Representatives and Revenue Cycle staff; act as payor expert and resource.
• Develop and train staff to improve revenue cycle knowledge and resolve patient account inquiries.
• Oversee and review employee work to ensure appropriate actions and QA checks are performed.
• Implement new processes; analyze data to improve efficiency and accuracy in billing and credits.
• Participate in interviewing, selection, and training of new employees; manage personnel records and evaluations.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to align performance standards and inter-unit procedures.
• Maintain current industry knowledge to advise staff and support duties.
