Qualifications

• Hospital revenue cycle knowledge required.
• 1 year minimum experience in hospital revenue cycle, patient financial services, or AR; 2–4 years preferred.
• Experience with Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing and reimbursement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs collection activity to ensure proper resolution and reimbursement of claims; researches denials and writes appeals as needed.
• Resolves claim processing issues with third party payers and provides required information in a timely manner; assists patients to maximize reimbursement.
• Monitors reimbursement trends and denials; escalates concerns to leadership as needed.
• Meets department productivity and quality standards.
• Resubmits clean and accurate claims to insurance companies in a timely, compliant manner.
• Handles payer and patient correspondence including requests for information and reconsiderations.
