Job summary

Family Resource Center is seeking a Revenue Cycle and Coding Specialist to support accurate coding, billing, and revenue cycle processes. The role emphasizes clinical documentation improvement, coding accuracy, and compliance across payer guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active coding certificate and knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in health information management, medical coding, or billing.
• Strong knowledge of payer guidelines, medical necessity, and HIPAA/privacy policies.
• Experience with EHR and practice management systems and billing software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical documentation to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide or coordinate education.
• Partner with departments, clinical and revenue cycle teams.
• Participate and complete audits.
• Analyze and react to data.
• Maintain knowledge of multiple payer types.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA and policies.
• Review and ensure accurate data is documented.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers per guidelines.
• Prepare, review, submit, and track clean claims for all payer plans.
• Prepare, review, submit, and track prior authorizations.
• Process reimbursements and payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
