Job summary

Ascensus seeks a Compliance professional with expertise in retirement plans to support Plan Consultants and ensure regulatory compliance across plan types.

You will review plan documents, apply IRS/DOL/ERISA guidance, and assist with audits while handling plan administration and testing for assigned business blocks.

The role emphasizes strong analytical, communication, and detail-oriented skills, with qualifications including 3–8+ years of testing and familiarity with 5500s; Bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3 to 8+ years of hands-on retirement plan testing experience will be considered
• Experience doing Employer Calculations
• Must have experience with 5500’s and other relevant documents
• Experience with cash basis and/or trust accounting
• Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet deadlines in ERISA compliance
• Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification preferred once eligible
• QKA designation preferred but not required
• Involvement or pursuit of QPA designation preferred
• Prior experience with plan administration software (FT Williams or ASC)

Responsibilities

• Complete and support work for the Compliance Associate roles
• Read and interpret retirement plan provisions to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Apply IRS, DOL, and ERISA to analyses
• Support DOL, IRS, and Large plan audits
• Assist Plan Consultants with resolving operational and compliance issues
• Responsible for plan administration, compliance and testing for identified blocks of business
• Track progress to meet compliance deadlines
• Prepare annual valuation and compliance reports for Clients
• Provide consultations with Plan Consultants in drafting plan documents and amendments
• Support quality assurance reviews
• Protect confidential data and ensure secure handling
• Align actions with I-Client service philosophy and core values
• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
