Qualifications

Section 1: Position Summary

We are seeking a compliance professional with an advanced understanding of all plan types to facilitate complex interactions with Plan Consultants.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete and support the work outlined for the Compliance Associate roles.
  • Read and comprehend retirement plan provisions from documents and related materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Understand, consider, and apply legislation and regulations, including IRS, DOL, and ERISA, in preparing and analyzing information.
  • Support DOL, IRS, and large plan audits.
  • Assist Plan Consultants in resolving operational and compliance issues related to qualified plans.
  • Manage plan administration, compliance, and testing for designated blocks of business.
  • Track and monitor job progress to meet compliance deadlines.
  • Prepare annual valuation and compliance reports for clients.
  • Provide detailed consultations with Plan Consultants for drafting plan documents, amendments, and legal documents.
  • Support and complete quality assurance reviews.
  • Protect, secure, and handle confidential data responsibly, ensuring against unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Demonstrate our I-Client service philosophy and core values of People Matter, Quality First, and Integrity Always daily.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Supervision

Section 3: Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on retirement plan testing experience; 8+ years preferred.
  • Experience with 5500 forms and relevant documents.
  • Experience with cash basis and/or trust accounting.
  • Prior ERISA experience in retirement industry preferred.
  • At least 5 years of financial data analysis and testing experience required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, able to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.
  • Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification required upon meeting eligibility.
  • QKA designation preferred; involvement or pursuit of QPA designation is a plus.
  • Experience with plan administration software such as Relius, FT Williams, ASC, or Datair is desirable.

The national average salary ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, excluding bonuses and benefits. Actual compensation varies based on factors like location, experience, and performance.
