Job summary

IHME at the University of Washington seeks a temporary Researcher on the Gender Equity Metrics team in Seattle to develop, review, and disseminate gender-based analyses related to the Global Burden of Disease. You will apply statistical modeling, extract data from diverse sources, and contribute to publications and grant proposals while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least one year of quantitative analysis experience,

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline plus one year of experience with statistical modeling and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience or research with gender-based violence work is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to work with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and understand assigned research area methodology and components.
  • Carry out quantitative analyses and statistical modeling under supervision to produce results on given timelines.
  • Extract data from diverse sources, format and transform data for analysis, and assess relevance.
  • Document code and analytic approaches to enable replication by team members.
  • Lead discussions in research meetings and contribute to presentations, manuscripts, and funding proposals.
