Job summary

IHME at the University of Washington seeks a Temporary Researcher on the Gender Equality Metrics team. You will perform quantitative analyses, data extraction, and modeling to estimate gender-based violence indicators for the Global Burden of Disease study, collaborating with data and research partners.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in public health or related field plus experience with statistical modeling, strong communication, and proficiency in R.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, or related discipline.
• One year of experience with statistical modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop a core understanding of assigned research area methodology.
• Carry out quantitative analyses and statistical modeling to produce results on a given timeline as part of collaborative projects.
• Extract data from various sources and databases; format, transform, review and assess data relevance and utility.
• Review, assess and improve results and methods.
• Document code and analytic approaches so analyses can be replicated by others.

Education

Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline
