Job summary

Stability AI is seeking a Research Scientist to advance generative AI for professional creative workflows across image, video, 3D, and design. You will bridge frontier research with real-world product impact, producing prototypes and experiments that guide strategy and tooling for creators and enterprises.

You will publish where appropriate, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and design benchmarks and datasets to evaluate quality, editability, and brand adherence in complex media

Qualifications

• Strong academic research track record in CV, graphics, ML, or related field.
• PhD or equivalent research experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, or related discipline.
• Experience publishing papers and building working prototypes.
• Experience in generative and multimodal modeling including diffusion, transformers, 3D generation.
• Broad background across CV, graphics, vision, ML, design tooling.
• Strong Python and PyTorch programming skills.
• Ability to balance research depth with product relevance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in generative AI for professional creative workflows across image, video, 3D, vector graphics, and design.
• Develop new methods advancing the state of the art with real creative and production workflows.
• Publish research at leading venues while contributing to high-impact internal projects.
• Explore multimodal generative systems across image, video, 3D, vector graphics, and design with emphasis on controllability and reuse.
• Translate research insights into prototypes, experiments, and model capabilities for product direction.
• Work with researchers, engineers, designers, and product teams to identify important research problems with downstream impact.
• Design datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation protocols for professional workflows focusing on quality, editability, consistency, and brand adherence.
• Stay at the frontier of generative media research and integrate ideas across graphics, vision, language, video, and tooling.
• Contribute to a research culture valuing depth, publication quality, and practical relevance.
