Job summary

Vibrant Emotional Health, formerly the Mental Health Association of New York City (MHA‑NYC), is hiring a Research Scientist to support the 988 Lifeline and related evaluation activities. The role designs studies, analyzes data, develops tools, and prepares research products.

Collaboration across departments will guide practice improvements in crisis services. The position is remote, full-time, with a salary range of $69,000–$105,000 per year, and requires strong research and writing skills, plus

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral-level research qualifications required.
• 3+ years of experience designing, conducting, analyzing, or disseminating research.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses and documentation.
• Experience applying implementation science frameworks is preferred.
• Experience with crisis services research or public health data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research and evaluation studies.
• Analyze crisis service data to assess practices and outcomes.
• Develop surveys and measurement instruments for reliable findings.
• Prepare analytic summaries, reports, and manuscripts.
• Collaborate with Lifeline and Data Analytics teams to support research.
• Maintain documentation of methods, analyses, and limitations.
