Job summary

PetLabCo. in the United States is seeking an experienced Research and Innovation Scientist II to advance a growing pipeline of science-based pet supplements.

Reporting to the VP of Research and Development, you will turn ideas into commercially viable products through formulation, testing, and substantiation. You will own a portfolio of products, review ingredients, coordinate studies with partners, and collaborate across compliance, marketing, and manufacturing to support launches in a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's of Science in a technical area including animal science and nutrition.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in product formulation, R&D or a related scientific field.
• Experience with product formulation and/or new product development.
• Working knowledge of ingredients, their mode of action, and quality variance.
• Experience with R&D of early stage, yet unproven ingredients.
• Experience in clearly explaining and justifying formulations and product formats.
• Project management skills, with hands-on experience contributing to the development and launch of new products, packages and processes as a technical member of a cross-functional team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and learning agility.
• Experience collaborating with outside partners to deliver project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supporting formulation of new products with R&D and NPD teams.
• Reviewing and optimizing current products; assess ingredient data for formulations.
• Supporting partnerships with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Designing and executing studies with partner organisations to generate efficacy data.
• Staying up to date on new ingredients and innovations in your focus area.
• Ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory expectations for claims and labeling.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to launch new products successfully.
