Job summary

Post Consumer Brands in Lakeville, MN seeks an R&D Scientist III – Pet Product Development to lead product development initiatives and translate consumer insights into technical design requirements. You will formulate new and existing pet foods, manage projects, and collaborate across functions to deliver value to pets and their owners.

The role requires a BS in a related field, 5+ years in pet R&D, and experience with formulation and food processes.

Qualifications

BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Animal Nutrition, or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant Pet experience in Research & Development.
Experience with Pet Food and/or Snacks formulation and product development is highly desired.
Experience with food processes ( extrusion, thermal processing, baking ) is a plus.
Experience with formulation software such as Concept 5 is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop/Formulate new products and improvements to existing products within AAFCO requirements.
Coordinate and run experiments with Pilot Plant and Manufacturing Sites to test sensory/palatability, stability, and other technical deliverables.
Communicate results, learnings, and recommendations; contribute to proposals, summaries, and reports.
Lead project or technical teams to meet project needs and timing.
Collaborate with internal and external R&D teams to develop tasks and plans for timely goals.
Support cost savings, packaging changes, equipment modifications, and manufacturability improvements.
