Job summary

UofL Health is a not-for-profit academic health system in Louisville seeking a Research Billing Coordinator to ensure proper billing of study-related items and services. You will review clinical trial charges, coordinate with registration, coding, and billing, and prepare monthly invoicing for research programs, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high standards of accuracy.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years in healthcare finance or revenue cycle (required).
• Two (2) or more years in clinical research (preferred).
• Experience with medical terminology and/or medical coding (preferred).
• CCRP/CHRC/CPC (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review daily research subject registrations and match to encounters for holds and charge review.
• Review charges, budget, consent, and protocol to determine items to adjust on claims.
• Ensure correct condition code & NCT# for insurance claims and re-bill researchers when needed.
• Coordinate with revenue cycle, researchers, and external providers to resolve inquiries.
• Convert full charge information to invoices and bill the research program; follow up on AR.
