Job summary
Sigma Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Remote Software Engineer (Digital) – Chat Platform to join an Agile software engineering team responsible for building, enhancing, and supporting complex, scalable applications across an enterprise chat platform.
The Software Engineer will work across the full-stack development lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing, system integration, troubleshooting, and deployment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Python
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience implementing, integrating, and maintaining Dialogflow CX, GECX, or conversational AI solutions
- Experience integrating, supporting, or consuming SDKs for web, iOS, and Android applications
- Experience with REST APIs, HTTPS, and JSON
- Experience developing real-time communication features using WebSockets
- Experience with NoSQL and/or SQL databases
- Independent troubleshooting of complex issues across full-stack

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable applications for the enterprise Chat Platform.
- Write clean, efficient code using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python while following coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and apply software engineering best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain real-time chat features using WebSockets.
- Develop and support SDKs for web, iOS, and Android platforms.
- Build and support system integrations across enterprise channels and backend services.
- Utilize Dialogflow CX, GECX, and AI technologies to develop intelligent conversational experiences.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across backend services, real-time layers, and client-side SDKs.
- Engage in full SDLC from concept to deployment; take architectural perspectives when evaluating solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and task estimation.
- Manage development tasks with Jira, digital.ai Agility, or RTC.
- Communicate risks and blockers to the team promptly.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

The Software Engineer will work across the full-stack development lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing, system integration, troubleshooting, and deployment. The role focuses on real-time communications, omnichannel messaging, client-side SDK integrations, and conversational AI technologies.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Dialogflow CX/GECX/AI, and WebSockets, along with experience integrating SDKs for web, iOS, and Android applications. Candidates should be comfortable independently troubleshooting production-grade applications and collaborating within an Agile development environment.

- Manage development tasks using tools such as Jira, digital.ai Agility, or RTC.
- Communicate technical issues, risks, and blockers to the Scrum Master and relevant team members in a timely manner.Follow established practices for source control management, unit testing, build processes, and production operations.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
