Job summary

Leidos, a Fortune 500 company, is hiring a Relay Settings Engineer to join our Power Delivery Solutions division. You will collaborate with protection engineers to design relay settings and IEC61850 logic diagrams for substations and renewable projects.

The role offers hybrid or remote options, with junior-level flexibility in Framingham, MA or Charlotte, NC. Travel to sites and labs is required for certain levels and projects, and growth opportunities like PE/PMP training are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) with internship experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) with three plus years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and in-office/testing labs as needed.
• Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams.
• Ability to learn relay settings for microprocessor relays (SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB).
• Familiarity with protection and coordination studies and related software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages.
• Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations.
• Collaborate with clients and remote office staff.
• Support project planning through design and construction phases.
• Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV to 500kV with documentation.
• Assist in solving complex substation engineering problems.
