Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Relationship Manager in Group Benefits to partner with our Sales team and top-level Broker partners, delivering solutions to mid-market account groups that help them protect their business and financial security.

This role focuses on retaining and growing in-force group business, delivering strategic relationship plans, handling complex service issues, and training Client Relationship Consultants for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of account management experience.
• Active life/health license preferred.
• Excellent persuasion, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, listening, and communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of business unit applications.
• Leadership, time management, financial analysis, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for face-to-face meetings.

Responsibilities

• Retain and grow an assigned block of in-force group business.
• Deliver strategic relationship plans with quarterly/annual goals.
• Handle complex service issues, plan amendments, and renewal analysis.
• Provide training and mentorship to Client Relationship Consultants.
• Deliver training about our products and services to broker partners.
