Job summary

Principal Financial Group in Minneapolis is seeking a Relationship Manager in Group Benefits to partner with Sales and top brokers, retaining and growing an in-force block of business and delivering strategic relationship plans. You will train consultants and provide renewal analysis while handling complex service issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 8+ years of related account management experience, with travel up to 25%. Licenses may be required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 8+ years of related account management experience.
• Must obtain and maintain state licenses within 90 days; life/health license preferred.
• Strong persuasion, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, listening, and communication skills; analytical ability.
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of business unit applications.
• Leadership, time management, financial analysis, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Profitably retain and grow an assigned block of in-force group business
• Deliver a strategic relationship plan with quarterly/annual goals
• Handle complex service issues, plan amendments and renewal analysis
• Provide leadership by training, mentoring, and onboarding Client Relationship Consultants
• Deliver training about our products and services to broker partners
