Job summary

CoinFlip seeks an Assistant General Counsel to lead regulatory affairs and support the Chief Legal Officer on enforcement actions, litigation, and strategic initiatives. This role manages examinations by state regulators and serves as a primary contact with regulators.

The ideal candidate is a former litigator with experience in financial services regulation, money transmitter licensing, and enforcement actions.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Illinois preferred).
• 7–10+ years of relevant legal experience in regulatory, money services, digital asset licensing, or fintech.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory affairs, examinations, and enforcement strategies.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate litigation or disputes.
• Provide guidance on federal/state financial services laws (BSA/AML, OFAC, data privacy).
