Ascension Wisconsin Statewide is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement professional for a full-time remote role. You will enhance medical record documentation quality, perform admission reviews, and assign working DRGs in collaboration with physicians.

This role focuses on accurate severity of illness and service levels before discharge, with a strong emphasis on CDI workflow integrity and documentation excellence.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credentials (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) or AAPC CPC credential required prior to hire date.
• Clinical Documentation Professional credential from relevant associations also accepted.
• State licensure as applicable (RN or multi-state compact) prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate improvement in overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation.
• Complete admission reviews and assign a working DRG; ensure data is entered in the CDI system.
• Initiate and maintain interactions with physicians to obtain detailed information for documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure severity of illness and level of services are accurately reflected.
• Maintain accurate records of review activities; ensure reports and outcomes of CDI efforts are valid.
