Job summary

Merck is seeking a credentialed Regional Medical Scientific Director to engage in bidirectional scientific exchange with Scientific Leaders. The role covers the US territories GA, FL, SC, AL, MS, LA with up to 50% travel, focusing on scientific exchange, research, congress support and insights.

Requires a terminal degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. The role will liaise between the scientific community and Merck to clarify scientific bases for trials and investigator-led studies,

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
• Proven competence with at least 3 years in the therapeutic area beyond degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs to provide access to approved medical and scientific information.
• Engages in peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of scientific and clinical developments in the AOI.
