Job summary

The State of Utah is seeking a Regional Liaison Officer to support the Utah Division of Emergency Management. The role coordinates with local emergency managers and officials, aligns planning activities, and ensures compliance with laws and obligations.

This remote, full-time position may require irregular hours and extended travel across Region 6 & 7 counties. Starting hourly rate is $26.61, with potential adjustments based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• Lockstep with emergency management operations and agencies.
• Willingness to travel extensively to support operations.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including deployments up to two weeks.
• Comfort working with local, state, and federal partners.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate emergency planning initiatives and serve as liaison across agencies.
• Coordinate resource tracking, grants, and training/exercises for DEM.
• Engage with county and city officials to identify needs and build capacity.
• Respond to disasters at any hour as requested by DEM and county managers.
