Job summary

Utah Department of Public Safety seeks a Regional Liaison Officer to support Regions 6 & 7. This fully remote, full‑time role coordinates with local emergency managers, assists with program development and training, and supports grant administration to strengthen local emergency management capacity.

Starting hourly rate is $26.61, may be higher with experience. Applicants should be prepared for extensive travel and be located in or near the Region 6/7 counties; duties may include back-up for

Qualifications

• All positions are subject to being available around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, deployments of up to 2 weeks, work at locations other than the official duty station.
• Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive (days to weeks), with little advance notice.
• Preference will be given to those who live in or near one of the counties covered by Region 6 & 7.

Responsibilities

• Build, foster, and maintain relationships with county, city, and local emergency management partners.
• Coordinate with local emergency managers and elected officials to serve resource needs and information sharing.
• Provide technical assistance to support emergency management responsibilities and roles.
• Attend and support meetings, preparedness events, trainings, and LEPCs.
• Inform DEM of county/regional needs, grants, plans, and coordination between jurisdictions.
