Job summary

MPHI is seeking a Community Outreach Technician-Region 3 to engage Northeast Michigan communities remotely with regular travel within Region 3. The role involves door-to-door outreach, health education, and coordinating with MDHHS and MPHI teams to deliver environmental health information.

The position requires a high school diploma, flexibility to work evenings/weekends, and strong communication skills; no prior experience is required, with preference for 1 year of outreach work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; one year of outreach/community engagement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with communities to provide information and strategies for preventing environmental health risks.
• Travel to communities within Region 3 to engage with residents at homes, events, and meetings.
• Perform lessons, lead filter installations, and test soil for lead (soilSHOP).
• Inform residents about environmental test results.
• Build positive relationships with community members and partners.
• Support program planning, development, and evaluation.
