Job summary

Role requires coordination with physicians, patients, and payers, plus maintenance of referral databases and timely notifications of status changes. A high school diploma is required; healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Experience in a medical facility preferred
• Knowledge of health care office protocols/procedures preferred

Responsibilities

• Gathers, verifies and processes referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications by working with physicians, patients and payers
• Schedules appointments and coordinates clinic visits
• Notifies physician and patient when referral is denied or needs additional information
• Develops and maintains database of referral physician offices preferred by each physician
• Provides patient education and answers billing questions and insurance clarification
