Job summary

Ria Health in the United States is seeking an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor to join our remote care team. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based coaching, coordinating with physicians and nurses, and supporting pharmacotherapy within a virtual clinic.

You will conduct intake evaluations, develop care plans, and manage a caseload while maintaining HIPAA standards and engaging members through phone, video, and app-based communications, including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• State-licensed alcohol and drug counselor (AADC, ADC, CADC, CADAC, LAADC, MCAP or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of experience in AUD or addiction treatment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with pharmacotherapy or medication-assisted treatment.
• Experience in startup, virtual health, or telehealth settings.
• HIPAA/privacy knowledge and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with supervising medical staff to revise member care plans.
• Facilitate individual coaching sessions via 15–30‑minute video/phone calls and app-based communication.
• Manage a caseload, monitor health outcomes, coordinate care, and provide case management services.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to support pharmacotherapy, reduce alcohol use, and promote positive health outcomes.
• Document sessions in EMR and billing systems.
• Maintain HIPAA and privacy standards.
• Work some evenings and/or weekends as required.
• Participate in team meetings, coaching syncs, and related meetings.
• Develop plans of action to maintain productivity and member engagement.
