Job summary

Sardine is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to own the end-to-end ML serving stack for real-time fraud detection. You will build and maintain the low-latency inference path, feature retrieval, and model deployment pipelines.

You will work across Python and Go backend, ensuring fast inference within the 250ms budget, and contribute to testing, observability, security, and compliance in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building, not just using, model serving infrastructure.
• Production ownership of ML systems: you’ve been paged when something broke, you fixed it for good.
• Strong Python and solid software engineering fundamentals, testing, code review, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the model serving infrastructure, real-time inference, feature retrieval, and latency budget.
• Develop deployment path for data scientists to ship models, including bring-your-own-model support.
• Own models in production: monitoring, drift detection, retraining, incident response, and on-call rotation.
• Build and optimize pipelines that turn raw signals into production-ready features.
• Collaborate across Python and Go backend to keep inference fast.
