Job summary

The NRP Group seeks a qualified Legal Counsel to support Real Estate Development, Acquisition & Finance. You will manage transactions from inception through closing, draft and negotiate real estate documents, and advise partners on structure, risk, and closing readiness.

Ideal candidates hold a JD, active license, 5–8 years of related experience in commercial real estate, with in-house experience preferred and knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, and housing finance. Office or remote work options available.

Qualifications

• JD required and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–8 years of related legal experience, including commercial real estate development transactions.
• In-house experience preferred.
• Experience with affordable housing/LIHTC, HUD or related housing finance is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage real estate development, acquisition and financing transactions from inception through closing.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, easements, covenants, development agreements, and related documents.
• Advise business partners on transaction structure, risk allocation, legal requirements, and closing readiness.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, investors, title companies, and outside counsel.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting commercial real estate and affordable housing.
