Job summary

RTX in the United States is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to avionics software projects in a premium remote-friendly internship with on-site involvement in Cedar Rapids, IA.

You will gain hands-on experience with C/C++, Java, Python, and Simulink, participate in testing, and learn to develop design options while aligning with hardware/software standards and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software/Computer Engineering, CS or related STEM; enrolled through internship.
• Experience with C/C++, C#, Java, Python, Simulink, or Perl.
• Demonstrated communication, teamwork and results-oriented skills preferred.
• Experience collaborating across teams and platforms to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in engineering processes and standard work, including verification and qualification.
• Create and consolidate testing on diagnostic systems with logical/mathematical solutions.
• Assist in researching design options during equipment design stages to support recommendations.
• Learn and apply hardware/software standards to ensure work products meet standards and business goals.
