Job summary

Bristows LLP in London seeks a proactive paralegal to support the Real Estate group across general commercial transactions. Under supervision you will help with file opening, AML checks, client verification, data‑room prep and SDLT/Registry tasks.

You will assist with completion mechanics, manage deadlines and maintain checklists while contributing to a collaborative culture and a flexible remote-working policy allowing more time in the office than out of it.

Qualifications

• Strong IT proficiency with MS Office, IManage and property‑specific platforms.
• Previous property or legal experience preferred, though not essential.
• Excellent organization and time management with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication, professional client handling.
• Comfortable using AI tools to assist drafting, summarising and review, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with initiative.
• Awareness of AML, data protection and confidentiality obligations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with file opening, AML checks, source of funds and client verification.
• Support fee earners on acquisitions, disposals, lettings and leases, including reporting and SDLT/Land Registry tasks.
• Proficiency in SearchAcumen to order searches and handle Land Registry applications.
• Assist with completion mechanics, funds requests and electronic deeds packets.
• Proactively manage files, deadlines, records and timekeeping.
