Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state.
• Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).
• Current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients.
• Write prescriptions for medications and labs based on results and protocols.
• Determine eligibility for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests.
• Relay information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Document care accurately in charts and records.
• Assist in multi-disciplinary rounds and promote cancer treatment.
