Job summary

Beatrice Community Hospital is seeking a Hospital Billing Specialist to manage accounts, submit and follow up on claims, and resolve reimbursement issues across multi-specialty clinics. You will ensure compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and internal policies while helping patients and staff with billing questions.

The role includes AR monitoring, identifying reimbursement trends, and handling insurance credits and refunds. Flexible scheduling may be available after training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare, medical office operations, insurance, customer service, billing, collections, accounts receivable, or a related administrative role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned accounts to ensure accurate and timely billing, follow-up, and collection from third party payers.
• Prepare and submit claims, research and resolve claim edits, denials, underpayments, unpaid claims, and other reimbursement issues.
• Maintain compliance with CMS regulations, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
• Monitor accounts receivable to promote timely payment.
• Provide billing and reimbursement assistance to patients and internal staff as needed.
