Job summary

Skyrocket Ventures, Inc. seeks a mid-level to senior Firmware/Embedded Software Engineer to advance our autonomous delivery drone platform in San Francisco. You will own low-level firmware on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and collaborate with hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or similar.
• At least 2 years of hands-on embedded systems development.
• Expertise in bare-metal programming on ARM microcontrollers.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded targets.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and low-level debugging on custom boards.
• Understanding of buses (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and embedded peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and bring-up ARM-based microcontroller platforms for robotics products.
• Design, implement, and validate firmware for motion control, sensors, communications, power management, and safety-critical functions.
• Hands-on board bring-up, low-level debugging, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Firmware bring-up and integration for new embedded platforms (ARM Cortex-M).
• Maintain bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for robotic subsystems (motor control, sensors, telemetry, power).
• Write robust, well-documented C/C++ code for embedded targets.
• Collaborate with hardware team on bring-up, schematic reviews, and system integration.
• Lead system bring-up, validation, and debugging.
• Contribute to firmware safety, reliability, and system-level robustness.
