Skyrocket Ventures, Inc. is seeking a Senior to Sr. Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead firmware for Battery Management Systems in autonomous robotics.

You will design and implement C/C++ firmware for ARM Cortex-M, own hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration, collaborating with electrical engineers to ship robust BMS solutions. The role offers hybrid work in San Francisco with work-from-home up to 2x per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded systems experience with BMS.
• Strong C/C++ on ARM microcontrollers; bare-metal programming expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware development, bring-up, and integration for BMS and embedded power electronics on ARM MCUs.
• Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for battery monitoring, protection, charging, and power management.
• Implement SOC/SOH, cell balancing, thermal monitoring, and fault detection algorithms.
• Write robust, well-documented C/C++ code for embedded targets.
• Develop interfaces to battery monitoring ICs, sensors, and power converters.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on hardware bring-up and system integration.
• Lead bring-up, validation, debugging, and testing of BMS firmware and subsystems.
