Elevance Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director for Post Acute Care within Carelon Medical Benefits Management. The role supports medical management staff to ensure timely and consistent clinical decisions for members and providers, with a focus on post-acute care and utilization management.

The position requires an MD/DO with ABMS/AOA board certification and an active license. Salary ranges from $179,503 to $307,732, with a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits; hybrid/virtual work

Qualifications

• Requires MD or DO and Board certification approved by ABMS or AOA.
• Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.

Responsabilités

• Ensure timely completion of medical reviews for board-certified specialty.
• Make physician-to-physician calls to gather information for medical necessity determinations.
• Determine medical necessity for grievance and appeals for their specialty.
• Ensure consistent use of medical policies in medical necessity decisions.
• Escalate cases requiring Medical Director review or policy interpretation.
